One-Day Road Trip to Datça
Putting together dozens of vivid memories that my “bright’n’sweet 27” day filled me with.
By the way, every brand new year of my life I strive to celebrate in a different part of the world. I am sincerely happy that this time, too, all that current global COVID madness failed to prevent international borders from opening up for us in time, so that on my birthday we got a chance to take off on a road trip along an exciting mountain driveway straight to unexplored Turkish town of Datça.
And then everything followed the ideal scenario: traditional Turkish breakfast on the sea shore; a couple of hours of “beach therapy”; promenade along the town’s picturesque waterfront savouring unusual ice cream based on goat’s milk; romantic dinner in a seaside restaurant; and at the end of the day – pink sunset with wine of an identical colour to the sounds of retro melodies and sea rustle.
Not simply a day, but a magic poetry full of astonishing moments.
Main destinations:
- Ovabükü beach (perfect for traditional Turkish breakfast)
- Gabaklar koyu
- Datça Liman
- Tekin Usta (100 % goat milk based ice cream)
- Kumluk Yolu (perfect for a Seafood & Wine dinner right on the coast)
- Sevgi Yolu
