6 Remarkable spots across Cyprus
This is not my TOP of favourite places, but only a somewhat «photo selection» of random yet extremely remarkable spots on the island of Cyprus.
- Limassol Marina

The centre of Limassol is cozy, picturesque, and always lively. It is the epicentre of the city’s social life, as well as a paradise and “harbour” for all Cypriot rollers and skaters.
In addition to the vibrant promenade that stretches along the seashore, here are many cafes, piers, parks, fountains, sculptures, and an elite residential area.
- Scenic “white rocks” Governor’s Beach is truly picturesque and kind of adventurous.

- Mount Olympos in Troodos mountains

The highest point of the entire island (nearly 2 km high), which hosts something that never comes to mind when talking about sunny Cyprus – a ski area. As a snowboarder, I was so curious to visit this place, but the bloody coronavirus pandemic obviously made its adjustments: lifts were closed during that winter season. However, the Troodos’ woods were calm and naturally inspiring, while drowning in snow even in April.
- Varosha aka “ghost quarter” of Famagusta had remained abandoned since 1974, and recently was reopened for visitors.

That’s a truly unique place where time has stood still for almost half a century, while Mother Nature has been making devastating transformations accordingly over all these years. An exciting walk through the restored streets along the unrestored buildings, entrance to which is prohibited by the rules (but who obeys them? ;), ends on a stunning Varosha beach.
- Wild and wide Paramali Turtle Beach hides in its rocks small caves – ideal for meditations, I would say.

- At last, this island wouldn’t be so beloved and close to my heart without such a sweet and cozy place as HOME with its one of the best Kyrenia centre & sea views ♡
